The 5 Best Pools in Chiang Mai: Rated By Locals!
What’s better than relaxing at the pool when you’ve had a busy day or week? Maybe relaxing at that same pool with a cocktail? We agree, and with that we recently polled our SYN Hotel staff to ask them what are the best pools in town (and not just hotel pools either!), so if you’re like us and want to make sure that you’re taking a dip in the best possible spot, these 5 options are where you need to start! Here’s our list of the 5 best pools in Chiang Mai:
5) 700 Year Stadium - Best for Diving!
Skip the dangerous cliff diving off of Chiang Mai’s amazing waterfalls and instead, head about a 15 -minutes drive away from town to one of Chiang Mai’s only Olympic Pools at the Seven Hundred Year Stadium. This is perfect for anyone who really wants to get in some serious swim practice and even jump off the huge diving boards. This spot is open daily from 8.00 AM to 8:00 PM and costs only 60THB for adults, 40TBH for students and 20THB for children. Within the complex, you can find many other activities including shooting, tennis and golf as well which are all fun for a unique day out.

4) BABY POOL - Best for families with kids.
Well just as the name suggests this pool is designed specifically for babies and kids! Pretty cool if you’re traveling with little ones to Chiang Mai and want some watery fun. Baby pool welcomes kids as young as four months old to come for a paddle or a swim. The pools use hygienic warm water salted-systems and claim to be the most environmentally friendly pools in Thailand. They also have swim lessons for kids 4-12 years old with world class coaches. 3) Rise Rooftop Bar & Pool - Best Private Pool
This is the pool for people who don’t want to see or meet anyone else. The fact that it’s on the top floor of a hotel, and you need to be a guest to get there is one reason, but it’s also pretty tiny. Having said that, everyone in Chiang Mai knows Rise has some of the best pool views in town. This pool is also unique because one side is made of plexiglass allowing for underwater viewing at its finest. Technically you could order a drink via hand signals to the bartender, from underwater. Not saying we’ve tried it, but maybe we tried it! Go here for a sunset cocktail at the pool, but not if your group is larger than 4 people.

2) Khum Phaya Resort & Spa - The Huge Pool
A little out of the way but worth it if you need an escape from the city! At this sprawling resort, there’s an area nestled between centuries-old trees and meandering canals that has a huge lazy pool for you to indulge your pool addiction in!
